Unique Wedding Rings

The origin of wedding rings is a topic of varied perspectives, as different cultures have contributed to the tradition over time. This practice can be traced back to ancient Egypt, around 3000 BCE, where wedding rings symbolized eternity and love, with the circle representing an unending cycle. Egyptians believed in the "vena amoris," a vein running from the fourth finger directly to the heart, influencing the custom of wearing the ring on this finger. The Romans later adopted this practice, using rings to signify legal and social contracts in marriage, initially made from iron and later from gold. The tradition evolved through the Middle Ages with Christian influences and became more elaborate during the Renaissance, featuring intricate designs and inscriptions. Today, the exchange of wedding rings is a global practice, reflecting a blend of these ancient traditions.

Modern wedding rings symbolize eternal love and commitment, serving as both a public declaration of marital status and a personal reminder of shared vows. They often reflect cultural traditions, personal style, and can even become cherished family heirlooms, passed down through generations.

The MIX, MATCH & STACK collection was born when I was designing my own wedding ring set. I wanted to find original options with organic shapes, perfect for everyday wear. These pieces ended up being versatile enough to serve as stacker rings too. What began as a personal project has grown into a passion for creating and customizing rings with meaning and history, future heirlooms for others.

In recent years, I've seen many designers come up with beautiful new ideas, but most people still choose traditional engagement and wedding rings. For classic jewelry lovers, I designed the Dainty Organic wedding ring, but I also wanted to offer more diverse textures and styles. Some pieces, like the Organic Waves Ring, are inspired by the original Egyptian braided rings made from hemp or reeds, but translated into metal. One of my favorite designs, the Pepita Gold Nugget Ring, features an abstract shape resembling a gold nugget. While this design is also available in silver, it is gold-plated because the original concept was envisioned in gold.

For my own wedding ring, I chose to add small diamonds, reflecting the colorful mix of unconventional gemstones in my engagement ring, which I also customized. My final design was a dainty trilogy ring, twisted for a unique yet comfortable everyday look.

The truth is, I feel honored whenever I’m asked to create a ring. I love the entire creative process, from shaping the wax model with my hands to setting the gems and finally seeing the polished ring shine.

The MIX, MATCH & STACK collection was created to last. My goal is to continue adding versatile designs that can be worn as wedding rings or stacked for everyday elegance, allowing each piece to become a part of someone’s story.
